Workshop “Revitalizing the Public Square: Religion and Friendship”

Friday, 1 March 2019

“The problem with our public sphere today is not so much in the absence of access to religion or other forgotten voices but the need of silence of too loud voices and to reduce cacophony and polarization, which undermines confidence in public debate and the public sphere. Here “religion and friendship” can become an antidote that is capable of starting a serious inter-religious dialogue and true personal recognition of “the other”. During the International Conference “Friendship in the Time of Facebook” professors of the Georgetown University Jose Casanova and Shaun Casey had a workshop about the religion and friendship.
