Damian Fedoryka

Professor Damian Fedoryka, a philosopher, ethicist and former President of Christendom College, USA was the first recipient of this fellowship and arrived in IIECI for the fall semester of 2014. Professor Damian Fedoryka is modern American and Ukrainian philosopher-personalist. Professor Fedoryka taught philosophy at the Ave Maria College (Ypsilanti, Michigan) and the Franciscan University of Steubenville(Ohio), and from 1985 to 1992, he was president of the KU Leuven (Belgium), Fordham (USA) and Salzburg, (Austria). Among the interests of Damian Fedoryka are personalistic anthropology, fundamental and applied ethics, in particular issues of sexual morality, abortion, and euthanasia, as well as the phenomenology of the gift and its role in social sciences.
