IIECI Autumn 2019 Fellowship Program Application Starts

The International Institute for Ethics and Contemporary Issues of the Ukrainian Catholic University invites graduate students and young scientists to use grants to conduct research on ethical issues.

The main purpose of funding is to support dissertation projects. Short-term research grants are awarded on a competitive basis and allow for a month to use the library and other resources of the Ukrainian Catholic University. Grant recipient – IIECI Fellow will have abilities to attend lectures, to participate in scientific seminars and special programs on ethical issues. In addition to the main holdings of the library, there is a special collection of Professor Peter McCormick: five thousand volumes of philosophical literature in the original languages ​​(English, German, French, Italian).

 

Fellowship Program Details

The grant will cover a one-month fellowship at UCU.

Dates of fellowship: November 4 – December 4, 2019.

Those scientific applicants who will receive confirmation of the application, receive a scholarship of 2000 UAH and free accommodation at UCU Collegium during the fellowship period.

Applicant requirements

For the grant those students and young scientists can apply who will have a specialist, master or Ph.D. degree at the beginning of their scientific fellowship .

Those applicants who plan a thesis defense must be enrolled in a postgraduate degree (full-time or part-time).

The most important criterion for selection is, along with previous scientific achievements, a convincing and well-planned scientific or educational project for the period of stay at UCU.

The grant is intended for residents of settlements other than Lviv, Ukraine, in order to facilitate their access to UCU scientific resources.

At the time of application, no more than 6 years after graduation for master’s degree programs, no more than 4 years from the beginning of postgraduate study for graduate students, and no more than two years after the defense of the thesis for Ph.D.

Terms of participation

During the internship at UCU, the applicant is obliged to present his / her own research project and report on the results of the research at the end of the project.

5. Detailed plan of research during your stay at UCU. This should be a specific project of scientific work that contains preliminary developments (status of scientific work at the time of submission of documents) and scientific goals during the internship (up to 10 pages). The sample is attached.

Application deadline for the fall semester is 2019-2020. on September 29, 2019. The results of the competition will be announced on October 4, 2019.
